The relevance of this topic lies in the need for a comprehensive linguistic approach to understand the meaning of nūr not only literally, but also in the context of the structure of the verse and the theme of the surah. This study aims to interpret the term nūr comprehensively through linguistic-siyāqiyah analysis, covering aspects of phonology, morphology, syntax, collocation, and style. The method used is descriptive-analytical qualitative with a classical approach to ma‘ani, bayān, and badī‘ theory. The primary data is the text of QS An-Nūr:35 from the Uthmani Mushaf, and secondary data is obtained from classical tafsir and contemporary linguistic studies. Data collection techniques through literature study and analysis are carried out using source triangulation. The results of this study indicate that the long vowel sound nūr reinforces spiritual meaning; the morphological form mashdar suggests the eternity of meaning; the syntactic structure forms a progressive visual narrative; collocation presents a network of layered meanings; and the style of language constructs complex metaphors that describe light as divine guidance. This study shows that nūr is not merely a symbol of light, but a principle of spiritual guidance that underpins the social ethical system and human faith. These findings enrich the linguistic interpretation of the Qur'an and emphasise the importance of the siyaqiyah approach in understanding the transcendental message of revelation.
sri wahyuni, Alvin Ziaulchoir El Nasair, Rexza Mohammad Aufi, Nur Hasaniah Copyright (c) 2026 sri wahyuni, Alvin Ziaulchoir El Nasair, Rexza Mohammad Aufi, Nur Hasaniah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://almanar.uinkhas.ac.id/index.php/al-manar/article/view/324 Tue, 30 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Effective Communication in the Workplace from the Perspective of the Qur'an https://almanar.uinkhas.ac.id/index.php/al-manar/article/view/320
Workplace communication failures increasingly emerge as a critical challenge in modern professional environments, often stemming from the absence of ethical and values-based communication frameworks. This study examines the concept of effective communication in the workplace as reflected in QS. Al-Qashash verses 26–28, through a comparative analysis of two prominent Indonesian Quranic exegeses: Tafsir Al-Azhar by Buya Hamka and Tafsir Al-Misbah by M. Quraish Shihab. The research aims to identify the principles of effective workplace communication according to both exegetes and to explore their similarities and differences. A qualitative library research method was employed, utilizing content analysis, descriptive analysis, and comparative analysis of primary and secondary sources. The findings reveal that both exegetes agree on two foundational pillars of effective workplace communication: professional competence (al-qawiyy) and moral integrity (al-amīn), alongside the necessity of transparent, unambiguous, and non-coercive work contracts, with Allah as the spiritual witness of every agreement. However, they differ in approach: Hamka employs an ethical-narrative method that extracts moral values chronologically from the Quranic narrative, emphasizing character and humanity, while Quraish Shihab adopts a linguistic-contextual approach that systematically analyzes Quranic diction to derive operational communication principles with stronger emphasis on workers' rights protection. These two approaches are complementary, together forming a comprehensive Quranic communication model that is simultaneously ethical, rational, transparent, and spiritually accountable.
Anjas, Mohammad Fattah Fattah Copyright (c) 2026 Anjas, Mohammad Fattah Fattah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://almanar.uinkhas.ac.id/index.php/al-manar/article/view/320 Tue, 23 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Qur'anization of Rural Communities: A Living Qur'an Study of Rural Muslim Communities https://almanar.uinkhas.ac.id/index.php/al-manar/article/view/323
This study examines the process of “Qur’anization” in rural communities through the study of the Living Qur’an, which refers to the implementation of Qur’anic values into the social life of the community through religious activities rooted in tradition. The research method used is qualitative with a Living Qur’an approach. Data was obtained through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with religious leaders and congregations, and documentation of activities. The results of the study show that there are four main forms of Qur’anization practices, including: First, the activity of reciting the Qur’an, which serves as a means to strengthen the ability to read the Qur’an and as a medium for passing on Islamic values from one generation to the next. Second, Rabu Wekasan as a means of warding off evil spirits. Third, Lailatul Ijtima’ as a means of conveying religious knowledge and Islamic values. Fourth, the Megengan tradition as a form of gratitude and friendship. These four practices show that Qur’anization at the Muslim Community of Baitus Salam is not merely a ritual activity, but a form of religious transformation that bridges the teachings of the Qur’an and the social life of the village community.

Keywords: Qur’anization, Living Qur’an, Rural Commmunity
aziza nadiya, libasut taqwa Copyright (c) 2026 aziza nadiya, libasut taqwa https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://almanar.uinkhas.ac.id/index.php/al-manar/article/view/323 Mon, 29 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0700 Spiritual Motivation In The Qur'an Within The Framework Of Contemporary Da’wah https://almanar.uinkhas.ac.id/index.php/al-manar/article/view/263
Preparing oneself to face the developments of the times, technology, and various understandings, the presence of modern society requires a foundation that always accompanies the practice of Islamic values, namely the Qur'an, which contains a source of inspiration and motivation for Muslims, especially for a preacher in delivering his message. Nevertheless, the process has remained a subject of scholarly debate, particularly regarding the reports that ʿAbd Allāh ibn Masʿūd rejected the official codification under Caliph ʿUthmān ibn ʿAffān. This study investigates the contestation of textual authority reflected in these narratives by examining their historical context, transmission, and interpretation in both classical and contemporary scholarship. Employing a qualitative library research method, the study analyzes primary sources on ḥadīth, qirāʾāt, and ʿulūm al-Qur'ān, complemented by relevant modern academic literature. A historical-critical and discourse analysis approach is applied to distinguish between historical evidence and later ideological constructions. The findings reveal that Ibn Masʿūd’s reported disagreement was primarily related to the process of codification and the status of companion codices rather than a rejection of the authenticity of the Qur'an. Furthermore, later theological and political discourses contributed to the expansion of these narratives, transforming them into competing claims of textual authority. The study concludes that the Uthmanic codification successfully established a unified Qur'anic text while accommodating the recognized diversity of qirāʾāt, thereby ensuring the continuity, authenticity, and authority of the Qur'anic tradition. This research contributes to contemporary Qur'anic studies by offering a critical reassessment of Ibn Masʿūd’s position within the broader discourse on the formation of the Qur'anic canon.
Rozaq Shohibul Ichsan Shohibul, Shahib Copyright (c) 2026 Rozaq Shohibul Ichsan Shohibul, Shahib https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://almanar.uinkhas.ac.id/index.php/al-manar/article/view/333 Mon, 29 Jun 2026 00:00:00 +0700
